What to do with McNabb?

Mike Williams - November 26, 2008

The Donovan McNabb era is ending in Philly, that we know, but the question for many fantasy players is when. McNabb's benching on Sunday seemed to be the end of his Eagles career but he was given a shot to start again on Thanksgiving against the Cardinals. One has to think that if this game was on a Sunday with more time to prepare, Kevin Kolb would get the nod.

If McNabb does a 360 and the Eagles keep winning, he could be the starter for the rest of the season, but if you are a McNabb owner they have to win. Once they are eliminated from the playoffs, it will be easier for Philly to shut him down for good, and that likely comes with just one more loss. If the Eagles go to Kevin Kolb you can downgrade the rest of the Eagles offense in a major way. He has looked awful, but his game against Arizona might be his last stand. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come out with a big game, as sometimes it takes people being at the end of their rope to be at their best. The question is, can you risk that in the playoffs? He is a major high risk vs. reward candidate this week.
